Melissa Caplin
Accounts Administrator
Melissa's role involves supporting the accounts department. She assists them with ad hoc duties and her invaluable work includes transferring money via the firm's internal systems, researching relevant documentation and very importantly chasing clients for outstanding payments ensuring that the firm's cash flow stays healthy!
When she's not in the office, Melissa takes care of her two children. She also enjoys shopping and socialising with her friends and family as well as social networking on facebook.

Paris Connolly
Conveyancing Executive
Paris has many years legal experience. She first worked at Taylors Legal in 2010 for several years and after leaving to pursue her dream to travel the world she then got a job in a London based firm assisting fee earners in Commercial Property. Five years later she has now returned to Taylors Legal as a Conveyancing Executive where she works in the busy New Build Team.
Outside of work, Paris enjoys long walks, visiting national trust and historical buildings as well as spending time with and looking after her daughter.

Hilary Conway
Administrator
Hilary joined Taylors Legal in February 2021 as an Administrator. Her main responsibilities include managing all incoming and some outgoing post, meeting and greeting clients when circumstances allow. Answering and re-directing overflow phone calls and being the central admin support for our Manor Road office.
Outside of work Hilary enjoys keeping fit and healthy by going for long walks and bike rides as well as socialising with family and friends and eating out when she can.

Deborah Costa
HR Executive
Deborah works in the HR department and manages and maintains the administration for employees. She is actively involved in most areas of HR and supports both individuals, teams and management in this area whenever required.
Outside of work she loves spending time with her two daughters as well as swimming and attending yoga classes. She also enjoys socialising with family and friends.

Legal Cashier
Hazel's main responsibilities as Legal Cashier include handling the money both incoming and outgoing. Her calm and efficient nature help when liaising with clients and sorting out their queries.
Out of work Hazel enjoys cooking, gardening, shopping and spending time with her family.

Lara Fisher
Paralegal
Lara joined Taylors Legal as a Receptionist in September 2015. Inspired to learn more about conveyancing and acquire more knowledge in a new role, she joined Elliott’s team in April 2018 as a Legal Assistant. She now works as a Paralegal in the private client department.
Prior to working at Taylors Legal and before having her two children, Lara worked for Barclays Life Assurance for a number of years and gained experience in the accounts, pensions and complaints department.
Outside work, Lara has a great interest in interior design. She enjoys spending time with her family and her dog as well as socialising with friends.

Licensed Conveyancer
Laura is a Licensed Conveyancer as well as Elliott’s Assistant. She joined the firm in 2007 having worked previously at other local law firms. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience and deals with all aspects of conveyancing.
Outside of work, she loves spending time with her children. Laura is a keen horsewoman - she rides and enjoys watching dressage.

Faye Gorman
Legal Assistant
Faye is a Legal Assistant and specialises in conveyancing. Having been an employee at Taylors Legal since 2014, she has worked in several teams for different partners. This has allowed her to develop her skills and gain more experience. She has a great knowledge dealing with new build and residential conveyancing.

Alexis Grant
Legal Assistant
Alexis joined Taylors Legal in September 2020 after completing A-Levels in History, Spanish and Drama. She spent three months in the role of Administrator and proved herself to be an asset to the team. She now holds the position of Legal Assistant and is involved in assisting the team with conveyancing matters. During her time studying she actively helped out at the office doing work experience to gain an insight of working for Solicitors. The experience she gained has now put her in a good position to build a career in the legal industry.
Outside of the office Alexis enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Other interests of hers include the theatre and travelling.

Jackie Hennessy
Legal Secretary and PA
Jackie began her career over 30 years ago dealing with many aspects of Law for several London based firms. She has been working at Taylors Legal since March 2014 and her current role involves dealing with clients relating to matrimonial matters, probate and wills.
Outside of work Jackie enjoys reading and going to the theatre as well as enjoying time with her family and socialising with friends.

Sophie Katseph
Legal Assistant and Marketing Executive
Sophie works for Taylors Legal as a Legal Assistant and Marketing Executive and provides support on conveyancing matters in her Legal role. In addition to this having a background in PR and Marketing, she brings her skills and experience and provides Marketing expertise whilst she works on both internal and external marketing projects.
Outside of work Sophie has a keen interest in Yoga. She has been practising Hot Yoga for many years and is currently undertaking a Yoga Foundation Course with the British Wheel of Yoga which helps deepen her practice and extends her yogic knowledge. She also runs an online pre-loved clothing business and gives her a great excuse to keep buying clothes.

Murray Mercer
Business Development Manager
Murray’s work in business development sees him as the link between the clients and the business. On a day to day basis he deals with obtaining new instructions for conveyancing, wills and probate. His role involves identifying and working on new business leads and prospects.
Outside of work Murray has an interest in visiting various countries and experiencing different cultures having lived in Canada in the past. He also enjoys playing recreational poker.

Michael Mercer ILFM (dip)
Chief Executive Officer
Michael joined Taylors Legal in its early days and has been instrumental in helping it to grow to the successful practice it is today. He’s responsible for ensuring the business runs smoothly and deals with all aspects of the firm, from financial control, strategic planning and legal compliance to all areas of HR including recruitment and looking after the staff. He states "The firm's main strengths are client satisfaction and meeting deadlines." Michael is a member of the Institute of Finance and Management and in 2014 completed his IFM diploma gaining a merit. He has been the firm's COFA since January 2013.
Outside of work you can usually find Michael playing golf. He is a huge fan and has several trophies. His greatest achievement was finishing third in a national scratch championship.

Glennis Mills
Accounts and Compliance Manager
Glennis works in the accounts department. On a day to day basis her job involves processing financial transactions and dealing with all accounts related matters.
She joined the firm in 2009 and has a wealth of experience both as a Legal Assistant and in accounts. She loves the friendly atmosphere the team creates.
Outside of work Glennis enjoys travelling, reading and spending time with her two beautiful daughters.

Rebecca Moughton
Conveyancing Executive
Rebecca joined Taylors Legal with many years’ experience in the legal industry and has the skills and expertise to carry out her job in a confident and professional manner. On a day to day basis her current role involves assisting the New Build team with all conveyancing matters.
When she is not in the office, Rebecca keeps fit by dancing, attending Zumba classes and they gym.

Abbie works for Elliott and assists with all areas of administration relating to conveyancing.
After successfully completing the Level 2 CILEx qualification, she joined the firm in March 2017 and then went on to complete Level 3 CILEx.

Jayraj Parmar
Trainee Solicitor
Jayraj is a Trainee Solicitor. After joining Taylors Legal in July 2022 he spent five months working as a Paralegal before he started his training contract. He has a degree in Law and completed the Legal Practice Course (LPC).
He has knowlege and experience of conveyancing which he gained from working at other law firms in London and is now developing this experience in his new role.
Outside of work, Jayraj enjoys travelling and playing sports such as football and cricket.

Ella joined Taylors Legal in August 2022 and is a Junior Conveyancing Assistant. Her role on a day to day basis involves assisting the new build team with Conveyancing matters.

Junior Conveyancing Assistant
Ellie joined Taylors Legal in May 2021 as a Junior Conveyancing Assistant and is working towards a Level 3 Legal Secretary qualification at College. Ellie assists the busy new build team and is learning the role of a Conveyancing Assistant.
In her spare time, Ellie likes to spend time with her family and friends. Ellie is also a keen dancer and has performed with the English Youth Ballet.

Assistant Business Development Manager
Lauren is our Assistant Business Devlopment Manager. She has previous experience as a Legal Assistant and has a wealth of knowledge in new build conveyancing. She works closely with the Business Development Manager and her job role on a day basis involves liaising with clients to try and look to converting quotations into instructions and helps facilitate quotes for new enquires.

Emma joined Taylors Legal in December 2021, bringing with her a wealth of conveyancing knowledge. She has been a Conveyancing Executive for other businesses since 2015 and enjoys the fast paced environment of working in the New Build Team.
When she is not thriving on the challenges her job presents her with, Emma keeps active by running and playing golf. She also enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends.

PA to the CEO/Office Executive
Julie joined Taylors Legal in November 2019 and is PA to the CEO/Office Executive. With over 25 years PA/legal secretarial experience she is a great asset to the company. She has extensive knowledge having worked for many top law firms in London as well as local firms in Essex.
On a day to day basis she supports the Practice Manager with his busy and varied workload. Her previous experience and the skills she has allows her to deal with a variety of tasks and can cope with situations both professionally and productively.
Outside of work she enjoys horse riding and spending time with her three daughters.

Amy joined Taylors Legal in October 2022 as Conveyancing Executive. She has a wealth of experience and specialises in New Build Conveyancing. Her knowledge expands from working as a Conveyancing Executive for many years, as well as working as a Sales Progressor for a housing developer dealing with New build properties.
Outside of work Amy remains active where she participates in a netball league. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Sophie joined Taylors Legal in May 2021 after completing Levels two and three of the Cilex Legal Secretary course. Sophie is gaining valuable conveyancing experience as she grows within her role as Legal Assistant.
Outside of work Sophie volunteers at her local stables which she has been actively doing for the past 10 years. Horse riding is a great hobby of hers which she manages to do while she is at the stables. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends

Caroline is one of our Post Completion Administrators working in the New Build Team. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience having worked in conveyancing for many years.
Outside of work, Caroline enjoys to keep fit and attends the gym, swims and walks several times a week. When she is not actively taking part herself, she loves to watch sport on TV and her favourites are football, cricket and rugby.
